little opinion...

greatly suggest that...before watching the class, teachers can tell us who is the director, the background of the story happened, and the background of the director, then we can more easy to get information of the movie.
because, sometimes, we will easy to lose concentration just at the beginning especially the movie has a non-linear structure....

yeah...that's my opinion...

  1. To A-Su,
    That is a great suggestion but the reason I did not do that because:

    1. If I tell you everything, it may make you not do the research yourself after the film. You are not babies any more, if I keep feeding you everything, you guys will never grow up;

    2. you may lose the interests in watching the film if the story is revealed before. Just like someone tell you what the movie is about right after you buy the ticket to watch Avatar;

    3. Are you very sure that you will not lose concentration even if I tell you everything? I know that a movie without subtitles in another language is a little hard for you. But the language should not be the barriers becuase you all have passed your IELTS exams before you came to Australia,right?

    I put some notes on the whiteboard at the same time and I hoped it helped you gain better understanding about the non-linear structure. Tell me if you think whether this way works or not. I did a lot of introductions and talked for a while before the movie started. Now I feel that you did not like that. Maybe the other teachers gave you plenty of information before the movie starts,but I didn't go to any their classes. Maybe I should follow their way? Let me know what you think.^^

  2. To NIkki,
    well!~

    what i mean background information is not what you said above-.-
    i mean, basic background...for example, in the latest film that you showed to us, "Reservoir Dogs", you can tell us that is a violence movie and non-linear structure,something like that~

    and you have done that!great!~~
    but in the big class on Wednesday...we just watching movie...even cant catch who is director because the class is so "busy"
    -.-

    and what you done in our class F,is totally wonderful~~you put notes on the whiteboard; it helps us to better understand what is going on~really good~
    if more lighting shoots on the board will be better...because..we can't see quiet clear on the back seat..

    overall~secretly tell u~-,-i think you are the be*t T in this class...
    you know what i mean right--"

  3. Dear A-Su:

    Sorry about the lighting problem.-_- AIT should have a better room for showing movie instead of freezing Lecture fridge. How about this: I will talk about it every next lesson and give you more time asking questions?

    I haven't gone to any other teachers' classes yet but I think we all have different teaching style. I will explain the non-linear narrative structure in detail this Thursday and make sure everyone understand.

    I really hope that everyone in the class has their own critical thinking about how they feel about the film because just like every designer has their own design style or drawing technique. The point to make them successful is to make their each piece of work stand out from others and make people believe that they can not find it anywhere else.
