Virgin Suicide is directed by Sofia Coppola in 1999, the background of Virgin Suicide is a true story about the suicides of five sisters happen during the 1970s.The novel of movie was written by Grosse Pointe in 1990, and it won Agar Khan Prize for Fiction in 1991.Virgin Suicide tells us a story, which happened in the middle of 1970s about suicide of five girls.
The movie story happened in 1970's in Suburbia of America. The Lisbon lived in Suburbia. The father of girls is a mathematic teacher of High schools. Before this disaster, their life was very peaceful, NO ONE knows there is something weird, Cecilia a thirteen year-old girl is the youngest of five girl’s suicide in her bathroom. Her life was been saved first time, Moreover story begin to show its side of sorrow, they have party with their neighbor boys, she jumps out the window onto the fence, this time she have not been saved and dies accidentally. The survival girls of the Lisbon family fall into a deep sad desperate and finally become isolated their girls by their parents inside little house. Trip Fontaine, the student of Mr. Lisbon, when he lost his way, and go into other classroom, saw Lux accidently,they love each other at that moment. MR Lisbon invited his stundent to take part in party with his daughters. In order to prepare the party, Lisbon Family was very exciting, Mrs. Lisbon help her daughter to shopping and buy some clothes for that day’s party. Parents lead their daughter to enjoy the joy inside love. When boys and girls had party, they stay under table, enjoy the joy of love. After party, Trip had sex with Lux in playground. After that, Lux was dumped by Trip crudely.Lux become very upset from thing love, Mrs. Lisbon is sad as well and worried about their girl, the couple began to panic, in case of suicide, Mrs. Lisbon locked their daughter at home. The sad things continue to happen, girls had sex with neighbors, after that, girls were dump again. Finally boy try to recovery the love between girls, they phoned Mr. Lisbon’s phone, they talk to girls by songs, girls reply their phone by songs as well. The film was filled with black humour, the audience appreciate the film's humour ,at the same time convey the feel of a film behind the helplessness of the current society.
About the director
Coppola who was born in New York is the first American local director nominated Oscar best Director Awards, she is the daughter of famous director Francis Ford Coppola .Sofia take part in the process of filmmaking when her father record his own movie, baby Sofia played a role as Birth baptism.

She attended Mills College and the California Institute of the Arts, and interned with Chanel when she was fifteen years old. After graduating, Coppola started a clothing design called Milkfed that is sold pretty nice price in Japan.
