urgent questions!

one of my friends in Drays' class told me that, Dray asked them to write 2 different essay if somebody choose to answer the section one questions......

that's different with what u said!

and , what can we do?

about the marking...because i think we have 3 tutors in class, there are different requirements of you,
then, can you mark the class that you are teaching at?

if not, i think that is a little bit unfair to us ....

  2. Dear A.Su,

Don't worry about that. I was told by Adrian that as long as in your essay we can tell you include the question asked, you will be fine. If someone choose only one movie for section One, it is impossible to write 2 essay.I will take care of it, as long as you guys have tried your best to write a good essay.

    your truly,Nikki

  3. A. Su,

A number of things to note, even though this is late coming to my attention:

    1) You shouldn't believe nor pass on rumours. Did you check with Dray exactly what she actually said?

    2) It makes no difference that there are three tutors. As has been discussed with you in lectures the marking is heavily moderated in this subject and much of the marking is spread amongst the three of us, so who actually marks your material may be completely different (and most often is) from your tutor.

    3) You should read the instructions in the essay sheet - not listen to rumours. The instructions are VERY VERY clear:

Select ONE of these movies and answer ONE of the following questions for that movie (minimum 600 words)
    ...
    AND ALSO

Select ONE of these movies and answer ONE of the following questions for that movie (minimum 600 words)

That is clearly two completely distinct answers. Yes, Nikki is right, it's fine to answer them in a single essay...but, the actual requirements are clearly stated in the question.

I hope your essay went well, A.Su

  4. To Hellray,

Here are something that i need to said:

Firstly, I didn't pass on rumours on purpose. I just discussed the essay with my friend and happened to know that there is different information about the essay writing in different class. And I am confusing about it. So I asked Nikki as soon as possible. Of course, I can’t make sure what Dray really said in class, so I just said my friend “told” me…

Secondly, in my point of view, this is really a difference if there are 3 tutors in class. We known that there are different requirements of you. As to this essay, Nikki said that we need to try ourselves to find the connection of the two questions about the Section 1. And we need to write ONE Essay! Yes, that is clearly two completely distinct answers. But if you were me, what would you think about it? I have read the instructions in the essay sheet, so? And what are the “actual” requirements? The “explanation” of you is different! As a student I think I have followed the instruction both in the essay sheet and of my tutor.

Finally, I think I have tried my best to answer the questions and write the essay, god bless us~ because I think many others have related or similar questions to mine in Section One.
